Zohra

At the tender age of thirteen the Belgian-Moroccan Zohra (1975) visited her first discotheque, chaperoned by her mother - a thrilling and eye opening experience for the young music enthusiast.
Her multi-cultural upbringing provided a goulash of musical interests: James Brown, Kool & The Gang and Tina Turner, but also Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Abba and Wham!.

Three years after her first induction in the magical world of nightlife Zohra was performing as a professional dancer in clubs all over Europe. New places, new musical discoveries: Prince, Eurythmics, Neon Judgement, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Blondie, The Police, ...

Zohra's dynamic on-stage presence and bold ambition caught the gaze of a well known dance-producer, who swiftly enlisted her for his project 2 Fabiola.
Between 1994 - 1999 they became a permanent fixture on the Belgian charts, scored an array of hits all over Europe and toured the world, entertaining crowds from Spain to Japan and Israel.
Her new found status as sensuous and exotic front woman resulted in extensive media attention, including many modelling jobs in magazines. Next step was a solo career.

Never to wave off a new challenge Zohra schooled herself as a DJ - her love for old school techno and electro proved to be infectious and soon she spun decks at notorious Belgian clubs as Fuse, Café d'Anvers and Culture Club.
Gigs in Ibiza, London, Paris and Shanghai followed, as did a nationwide festival tour together with Magnus, the dance project of dEUS frontman Tom Barman and producer CJ Bolland. In 2005 Zohra and CJ went down under for a joint tour in Australia.

Today, as a DJ, Zohra still connects the dots between her lifelong musical influences and experiences in clubs, at parties and festivals. Zohra is a natural born entertainer who's preferred habitat still is centre stage !
